Does anyone have information about Fieldglass?

Hi Mills & Mining Community!

 

 

I am looking for use cases for Fieldglass in the Mining industry. I am building a PoV and will appreciate all the help I can get.

 

 

Specifically:

 

 

What are the main differentiators between Fieldglass and Ariba regarding procurement? What can Fieldglass do that Ariba can´t?

 

 

Is there available information about the average ROI in a Fieldglass deployment?

 

 

Which are the business benefits or business outcomes identified in Fieldglass customers? Cost savings? Decrease in permanent workforce? Benefits in compliance?

 

 

I understand that Fieldglass is pretty strong in being a Vendor Management System in Mining so if anyone has further information or knows whom should I reach to get it I will appreciate it very much.

Fast Entry Not Available for movement type 501 at MIGO

Hi MM Gurus

 

I have made the application group for Transaction MIGO and assign char display to that application group in Config.

 

I am able to get fast enty of chars when material is received against purchase order but when I do good receipt

with "Other" option i.e 501 movement type then i am not able to get fast enty display.

 

 

 

Is there any other setting which I have to do in  addition to that which i have mentioned above.

Hello Experts,

 

I am using the above FM to confirm a combined order. The structures are populated with necessary details (to the best of my understanding) including I_ORDER_CONF_FLAG = X and I_END_CONF = X.

 

When this is executed, I get an error message "No settlement rule exists for object number".

 

The combined order has the two original orders as the settlement objects and in turn original orders have material numbers as the settlement objects. The original orders were created against sales order with variant configuration.

 

Can some one please let me know what is that I might be missing?

Hello Experts,

 

I am trying to create a combined production order using FM MILL_OC_ORDER_MERGE.

 

Necessary production orders have been created after creating sales order.

 

But during execution it is not processed in background. Instead it goes in to user input screen giving list of operations to be selected. Even after selecting the operations, it gives the error that "Settlement profile could not be created".

 

Can some one please give any input on this as to what is that I am missing?

Batch Valuation using Standard IS-Mill I Doc /SAPMP/MBGMCRCL_01

Hi,

 

For a SAP IS-Mill Implementation for our customer, we are planning to use Standard I-Doc /SAPMP/MBGMCRCL_01 to accomplish the below three activities simultaneously in SAP:

 

1. Batch Creation

2. Valuation of Batch Characteristics

3. Goods Movement-  Initial Entry of Stock Balances ( Mvt Type-561) in SAP WM

 

When posting this I Doc, the system creates the Batch for Material and post the Goods Movement in Warehouse Bins; however the Batch Characteristics Valuations specified in the I Doc Data are not passed to the Batch Master.  Are there are specific customizing activities or settings ( Movement Type, Batch Class or Batch Characteristics) which are prequisites for successful Batch Valuations ; pls. share solutions/inputs.

 

The Inbound Function Module for this I Doc is BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1.

McKinsey Publication: Are you ready for the resource revolution?

McKinsey recently published in one of their newsletters a study on resource revolution. Working for industries that are very resource intense - or are producing resources, I thought that this was very mind opening thought.

One of the first thing that struck me - (and by the way, it is reality in my household as well) - a car is _not_ used for 95 % of its lifetime. What a waste of resources!

And comparable examples can be found in the industry many times.

 

McKinsey lists a couple of strategies how to handle this topic - and I was really wondering, how SAPs solutions can be used to help companies in making this stategies real.

 

The first strategy proposed by McKinsey is 'Substitution'. There are examples of how one material is replacing another material (e.g. eggs are replaced by a vegetable product called 'beyond egg'). Through SAPs collaboration solutions, I guess companies can really find it more easy to work together with engineers, researchers, laboratories, and so on when working on such a 'new material'. And also I am convinced, that the analytical capabilities make it possible to detect the areas, where a substitution of a specific material would make much sense.

 

What are the examples that you could think of?

GATP & PPDS for capability to promise in Steel Industry

Dear all, the way steel industry products are bought, manufactured and sold it is clear that to map them into SAP , one would need Variant Configuration with immense amounts of Macro authoring for rules. The trouble is in promising the date of delivery, or rather honoring it once you have promised. This can only be done by utilizing a combination of GATP and PPDS. Basically using CTP.

 

My request to Gurus here is, if anyone has been in similar circumstances, can she / he guide me with some information, material ...or just continuing this discussion. We are about to enter a large scale SAP implementation with above scenario as a focus area.

Trim sheet order

Hello,

 

Has anyone worked in the trim sheet order process? If yes please let me know how to configure it. Our scope in this regard is quite big. We have trim optimizer, APO and R/3. So if you have done such an integration, please provide some guidelines.

 

Please share if you have any document on this. That will be great help.

Work Center selection not working in MILL_OC

I’m using transaction MILL_OC to convert a bunch of planned orders into a single Mill Products Production Order.

 

The selection screen works fine when I select by MRP Controller and Date.  But as soon as I add the additional selection of Work Center I get no results.

 

I have verified that my Work Center CHI_F2 is indeed in the scheduled planned orders.  My work center category is 0001 Machine.

 

Any idea why this is not working?  Thank you.

Hi Guys,

 

I am using the bali: BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS to record the inspection result using physical sample. When I execute it the systme generate the following error:

 

Quantity entered not allowed due to insp. point completion 3 (opera.0010)

 

I am fill out the following tables:

Characteristics modification in sales order

Hi,

 

I am implementing the IS Minning, during the creation of the sales order we are using a variant configuration material however the characteristics need to be modify. Accodring to the best pracitices this is possible. Does anybody know if is a special configuration to get it or need to actived something ? Because at the moment the characteristics of the variant configuration material are not possible to modify during the creation of the sales order.

 

I appreciate any help.
